Written by HALEO | Nov 5, 2024 1:00:00 PM

One in two people will experience symptoms of insomnia in their lifetime. So it's just as important to ask questions about the causes and consequences of insomnia as it is to find out what tips you can put in place to prevent or reduce these symptoms. And for the other half of us who don't have this problem, it still is important to get a good night's sleep!

In this 270th episode of the Sans Filtre podcast, with hosts PH Cantin and Doum Plante, Dr. Maude Bouchard, neuropsychologist and Director of Research and Development at HALEO, provides an overview of the countless concepts and mechanisms that govern sleep and, by extension, the human body. This episode of the podcast aims to reassure and help those who suffer from sleep disorders on a daily basis, as well as inform the general public.

Here's the list of topics Dr. Maude Bouchard will cover in this episode:

Insomnia, sleep cycles, sleep hygiene, available treatments, sleep differences between age groups, the importance of sleep in society, sleep in entrepreneurship and the “grindset”, the impact of sleep on academic and sporting performance, brain function during sleep, sleep-related hormones, importance of light in biological cycles, use of melatonin supplements, time change, caffeine, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-I).
